“Ready to engage without preconditions”: US willing to make negotiations with Iran

Delhi:  The United States has said it is “ready to engage without preconditions in serious negotiations” with Iran following the countries’ exchange of hostilities, according to agency reports. In a letter to the UN, the US justified the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani as an act of self-defence. US ambassador Kelly Craft told the United Nations that the Trump administration was “ready to engage without preconditions in serious negotiations with Iran, with the goal of preventing further endangerment of international peace and security or escalation by the Iranian regime”. However, Iran’s ambassador to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi said the US offer of talks was “unbelievable” while America continued to enforce harsh economic sanctions on Iran.V
