Supreme Court furious over Udayanidhi Stalin’s comments about Sanatana Dharma

Amaravati: The Supreme Court has expressed its anger against Tamil Nadu Minister Udayanidhi Stalin, who made controversial comments comparing Sanatana Dharma with dengue and malaria. A bench comprising Justices Sanjeev Khanna and Dipankar Dutta heard Udayanidhi’s petition on Monday. Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of Udayanidhi Stalin. Supreme bench asked how you are resorting to court after making controversial comments.. The court said that you should know the consequences of your words. That you have abused your right under Article 19(1) of the Constitution, and Article 25 as well. Now commenting that you have filed a PIL in the Supreme Court under Article 32, do you know the consequences of what you have said? The Supreme Bench has objected that you are not an ordinary person, you who are holding the responsibilities as a minister should know the consequences of your words. The case was adjourned to March 15.
Stalin made controversial comments on Sanatnam Dharma in a program held in September last year. He said that traditional religion is against social justice and equality. Sanatana Dharma has been compared to dengue and malaria and wants to be eradicated. Cases have been registered against Udayanidi in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Jammu, Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka on these comments.
