Threat of Cyclone “Midhili” looming over Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati: A low pressure area formed over Andaman and Nicobar Islands adjacent to Southeast Bay of Bengal on the 14th. The Indian Meteorological Department has stated that it will become a severe low pressure over the West-Central Bay of Bengal on November 15, and by November 16 it will move west-northwestward and become a cyclone. This time the name of the typhoon was suggested by Maldives. Cyclone Midhili has been warned that it will develop into a severe depression along the Andhra Pradesh coast in the west-central Bay of Bengal on Thursday, and will move north-eastwards and become a severe cyclone in the northwest Bay of Bengal along the Odisha coast by Friday. Due to this, strong winds will blow along the coast.

Tamil Nadu is receiving heavy rains due to low pressure in South East Bay of Bengal. Heavy rains are also lashing Chennai. In the wake of the IMD’s warning of heavy rains in the suburbs of the city on Wednesday too, the district collector declared a holiday for educational institutions. Life has already been disrupted in Karaikkal, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Nagapatnam districts due to heavy rains.
